PORSCHE TUNING SPECIALISTS
For over 20 years we have specialised in tuning Porsche cars from the base model Boxsters to the extreme GT3s and Turbo 911s. From the 996 and 997 to the 991 and later 992 almost all the models respond very well to tuning and we have developed specific tuning packages that enhance performance in a way that makes these cars even better to drive.
Of course the turbocharged models make the most gains in terms of horsepower and torque, however, the non-turbo models also tune so well with improvements that can really be felt on the road and track.
The original Porsche mapping on almost all these cars makes the engines run a little too lean for ideal performance and the turbo cars especially are tuned very conservatively from Porsche. A lot of which is to comply with EU emissions regulations and market position. Neither of which is relevant to the owner that wants the most from their Porsche.
Cayman & Boxster
The smaller flat 6 and 4 cylinder engines in the Porsche Boxster and Cayman are also immensely tuneable because in many cases these engines have been tuned down so that the 911 is not out-done by their more nimble mid-engined brethren. As tuners, this leaves a lot of potential for much improved performance on these models.
The early 3.2 S and 3.4 S are transformed with correct remapping targeting specific torque maps that sharpen engine response and increase acceleration at all engine speeds. The same can be said for the Cayman and Boxster 718 4.0 GTS. These cars’s chassis thrive on pin sharp throttle and strong torque for just when you need it – and this is exactly what we work hard at achieving when tuning this model – strong acceleration throughout the rev range.
Cayenne, Macan and Panamera
We also have a focus on more ‘practical’ Porsches like the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera - these cars have their own distinct engines that are wonderful to remap and produce big power when tuned correctly. From the early 4.5 and 4.8 to the later 2.0, 3.0, 3.6 and 4.0 engines, we have developed effective tuning that increases performance in most cases quite significantly.
911
Porsche 911 tuning can trace its origins back to the very beginning of 911 production. These are cars that appeal the most to Porsche enthusiasts for their speed, beauty, dependability and pure driver involvement.
We have spend many years working with owners of the later 996, 997, 991 and 992 cars learning exactly what the 911 enthusiast wants from their car from our chip tuning. What is true is that, although a GTS or T driver will have differing needs and expectations from a Turbo owner; what most 911 owners have in common is that they want the absolute best performance matched to the rest of the car. This means our focus when tuning the engine is to maximise performance to suit the transmission and handling characteristics of each model. This is no easy task, but we believe we’ve achieved this through experience listening to owners while getting to know the many iterations of the flat 6.
Handling & Chassis Considerations
Porsche cars have dynamic handling built into their DNA and the relationship between throttle and chassis is a vital component of the total Porsche driving experience, meaning the throttle pedal becomes a device that helps the driver communicate with both the engine and chassis. With this in mind our Porsche engine tuning focuses strongly on throttle and torque response so that the driver can use the throttle more finely to adjust the handling and attitude of the car. Enhancing control and communication between the driver and car is a vital component of the enjoyment and also safety of any sports car.
